EU AI Act — what documentation do you actually need?
A plain-English breakdown of Articles 11–15, what auditors will ask for, and how to build your compliance documentation before the August 2026 deadline.
Does the EU AI Act apply to you?
The EU AI Act is the world’s first comprehensive legal framework governing artificial intelligence. It came into force in August 2024 and imposes specific documentation, transparency and oversight requirements on organisations that deploy AI systems within the EU — regardless of whether those organisations are based in the EU themselves.
If your organisation uses AI to make or assist decisions that affect people — in hiring, lending, insurance, benefits, education or healthcare — you are almost certainly within scope.
The Act applies to you if you: deploy an AI system that affects people in the EU; procure or integrate an AI system from a third-party vendor; or use AI to automate, assist, or influence decisions that would otherwise be made by a person.
